Basketball Ministry

Sports are a great forum to apply Christian values. Thanks to the many basketball-loving adults in our church and Cameron House community who are volunteering as coaches and referees, a new generation of youth learn the right skills, attitude and love of the game.

In 2011 we are supporting four teams. [ 2011 schedule ]

Our teams play in the Chinese Christian Union League.

In the summer of 2010 both the PCC and the Cameron House young adult teams made it to the championship finals held on July 31. Congratulations

The Cameron House Young Adult Basketball Team had a great season this summer! They played in the Chinese Christian Union (CCU) league, a league based on fellowship and representing Christian values. The team played in the highest level of competition, the Platinum division, and reached the championship game, which they lost by only three points. The ages of the team ranged from 18-31, all alumni of the Cameron House Friday Night Club program. They were able to get to know each other well during the season and always keep a positive attitude. The team represented Cameron House well, and was awarded the 'Team Fellowship Award,' for the team displaying Christian values and an attitude of fellowship on and off the court. Congratulations on a great season!

During the summer of 2009 we fielded teams in three divisions: 16 and younger, young adults and women.

Allan Tan won the Most Inspirational Award for the 16-under division. Out of every player on all six teams, Allan was recognized as showing a Christian attitude on and off the court. He led the team in many ways, never complained to the referees and just represented PCC very well.

In a tight game on August 1, the Cameron House team bested the team from CIBC to win the Gold Division championship. The team, consisting of young adults from ages 17-30, came together to win their last five games, constantly lifted by it's many supporters.

Players from both teams enjoyed a season of fellowship and growth. Thanks to the Chinese Christian Union committee for coordinating such a fantastic league.
