On June 21st (Freedom) Sunday, we [members of the Presbytery of San Francisco] joined together for the We Can’t Breathe Virtual Vigil, led by Rev. Kamal Hassan We are grateful to have gathered in this sacred time to share in Lamentation, Learning and Leading. We wanted to followup with the "Call to Action" towards Racial Justice and Equity. Now is the moment to engage in anti-racist practices that dismantle unjust structures. As a Matthew 25 Presbytery we must do this work together. We have an opportunity now to to be intentional about one area of focus: Dismantling structural racism by advocating and acting to break down the systems, practices, and thinking that underlie discrimination, bias, prejudice, and oppression of people of color. We are choosing to work together in the days, months, and years ahead to fully engage in this struggle which is being joined by congregations and Presbyteries across our denomination. You are invited into action in the following ways:
Take the Presbytery of San Francisco's 21-Day Race Equity Challenge We will begin the challenge on July 1st and after the challenge we shall gather together to reflect and dialogue.
Participate in “The White Love Project” (This project seeks to deal with the spiritual and emotional traumas of white supremacy by exploring love, as an opposing framework to hate.)
