What We Do

Our church has a long history of outreach to the Chinatown community and to other organizations in the Bay Area. While there are many ways to be involved in the life of our community, members are also encouraged to participate in something outside of the church walls to spread our message of inclusion and hospitality further.

SPORTS MINISTRY

Sports are a great forum to apply Christian values. Thanks to the many basketball-loving and volleyball-loving adults in our church and Cameron House community who are volunteering as coaches, spiritual advisors and referees, a new generation of youth learn the right skills, attitude and love of sports.

Donaldina Cameron House is located only one block away from the church. In February 2009, the leadership of both organizations held a historic retreat to share each institution’s challenges and to envision the wonderful possibilities of a renewed and deeper partnership.

Our church has a long history of members speaking out and demonstrating for justice. And our members continue to advocate on social issues.

Individuals and small ad hoc groups often form to participate in rallies, marches and demonstrations for issues ranging from local community to national and international attention.

For the past 10 years, a PCC member team has participated in the AIDS ride, cycling from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Over the years we have sponsored additional riders and even recruited many friends from other churches within our Presbytery. Donations on behalf of our riders support those with AIDS as well as prevention programs in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

MISSION AND EVANGELISM COMMITTEE

Guided by Micah 6:8, our Mission and Evangelism committee seeks to do justice through advocacy and education; demonstrate kindness by being present in times of need with a welcoming spirit; and walk humbly with our God by organizing ways for our congregation to contribute to the church's work through out the world.
