PCC's Food Pantry

Our pantry is a distribution site for the SF-Marin Food Bank. Last year during the Shelter-in-Place, some enrollees waited many weeks before a slot became available. We decided to expand our capacity to 285 recipients and we no longer have a waiting list! Most of the other pantries in the city are filled to capacity.

PCC's pantry also provides home delivery to very frail seniors or disabled adults who would have difficulty standing in line and/or carrying the groceries home. Originally this service was specifically for two SRO buildings managed by Chinatown CDC on Clay Street. However we observed other seniors with extreme mobility issues and they know of no one who can pick up their food for them. Thanks to the delivery volunteers, we are able to deliver to five more recipients who live in close proximity to the church. It's situations like this that keep me motivated and energized! We're doing more than just handing out a bag of food.
